Accessibility Statement

PassQual Health is committed to making passqual.com usable by everyone, including patients who use assistive technology.

This statement describes our accessibility target, the concrete steps we have taken toward it, and how to reach us if something on this site does not work the way it should for you.

Our accessibility target

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the widely-recognized technical standard for digital accessibility, and the standard referenced by Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III.

We do not claim full or certified conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA. Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time checklist — we continue to test, fix, and improve this site over time.

What we have done

Concrete steps already built into this site, not general promises:

  • Semantic landmarks and heading structure throughout, including a "Skip to main content" link on every page for keyboard and screen-reader users.
  • Full keyboard operability — every link, button, form field, and interactive control (including our navigation menu, image carousels, and the accessibility menu itself) can be reached and used without a mouse.
  • Visible focus indicators on every interactive element, so keyboard users can always see where they are on the page.
  • Text and background color combinations checked against WCAG AA contrast minimums across the site, including the recent shift to a dark "Midnight" footer.
  • Descriptive alternative text on every meaningful photo and image.
  • Support for reduced motion: every animation and auto-advancing carousel on this site respects your operating system's "reduce motion" setting, and can also be forced on manually — see "Accessibility preference controls" below.
  • Bilingual content in both English and Spanish across the entire site, not just this page.

Accessibility preference controls

The accessibility icon in the bottom-left corner of every page — sized and styled to be easy to spot, the way you would expect from any accessibility control — opens a panel with real controls that change how the site renders and are remembered across visits: increase text size across the whole page, not just body copy (or reset it); turn on a high-contrast color mode; force reduced motion on regardless of your device setting; highlight every link on the page with a bold, distinctly colored underline; increase text spacing (line height, letter spacing, and word spacing, per WCAG Success Criterion 1.4.12); switch to a high-legibility system font; or reset every preference at once. We deliberately built every one of these controls ourselves instead of adding a third-party "accessibility overlay" widget — those widgets are a well-documented source of accessibility lawsuits precisely because they do not achieve real WCAG conformance; genuine, tested code does.

Report an accessibility barrier

If you encounter a barrier using this site — anything that does not work the way you expect with a keyboard, screen reader, or other assistive technology — please tell us. We want to know.

We review every accessibility report we receive and respond to let you know what we found and, where possible, when it will be fixed.

Known limitations

Some content on passqual.com is served from our previous website platform while our migration continues and may not yet meet the same standard as the pages built on our current platform. We are actively working through this content as part of the same ongoing commitment described above.
